Our View:Giambi showed with the Yankees last year that he can still be productive from a power standpoint as he hit 32 home runs with 96 RBI. Average may be another story, as he just hit .247 and has only batted over .270 once in his past six years with the Yankees.

Our View:The A's would like to sign Giambi, but not to a three-year deal, as he would like. Giambi is 38 years of age, and though still retains power, hit just .247 last season.

Our View:Giambi seeks a three-year deal, but Oakland will likely offer two years with an option. The sluger would form a solid power tandem with Matt Holliday in the heart of the Athletics' order. The Rays also remain interested in reeling in Giambi.
