Our View:He lost his closing role during the 2008 season, and was placed on the DL for the final six weeks due to an elbow injury. The Cardinals have shown some interest to bring him back, but it is unclear how much room they will have in their 2009 bullpen.

Our View:Isringhausen is a pending free agent and still in search of his 300th career save. After this struggles this season, it would be surprising if someone relied on him to be a closer next season.
