January 5, 2009 According to Patrick Newman, who maintains NPB Tracker, reports that relief pitcher John Wasdin is preparing to begin a second stint in Japan, signing a one-year deal with the Seibu Lions. He is projected to be a starter there in 2009.
Our View:A former first-round pick, the 36-year-old Wasdin has been a journeyman for much of his career. He spent all of last season pitching for the St. Louis Cardinals' AAA affiliate in Memphis.
