December 9, 2008 Updating a previous report, it now appears that Livan Hernandez has not signed a deal to join the Reds, according to the Seattle Times. Apparently, Times writer Geoff Baker confused the pending deal sending Ramon Hernandez to the Reds with this fictional one that was supposed to include Livan.
Our View:The human batting practice machine is still in search of a team to claim, so those of you who were scrambling to buy bleacher tickets to catch home run balls hit in Cincinnati can call the Reds back and cancel your orders.

Our View:At this point there are no other details available, but we can tell you this; this seems like an awful match for a pitcher who has allowed at least 25 home runs in each of the past six seasons given that Cincinnati is one of the better hitters' parks in baseball. Regardless, after posting a 6.05 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP last season for the Twins and Rockies, a better question might be just how desperate are the Reds for pitching?
September 17, 2008 Livan Hernandez took the mound against the Padres on Wednesday and brought his A-game. He threw five innings of shutout ball and allowed just five baserunners in the process.
Our View:He is now 2-3 with the Rockies with a robust 8.37 ERA. Hernandez is probably too risky to even stream with right now.
September 10, 2008 Livan Hernandez had another rough outing on Wednesday allowing eight hits and three walks over just 4.1 innings against the Braves. He did escape without the loss despite allowing four runs.
Our View:Please, please, someone in the Rockies organization take a look at the numbers with this guy and do what fantasy leaguers the world over have done - dump this bum. In 28.1 innings with the Rockies spread out over six starts, Livan has posted a 9.85 ERA.
August 22, 2008 It was yet another shellacking for Livan Hernandez to endure in Colorado, as he picked up his second loss and again gave up six earned runs in 3.2 innings as Colorado fell to the Reds 8-5.
Our View:This is getting painful to watch, as Hernandez has started three games for Colorado and has allowed nine, six and six earned runs, respectively, in his starts.
