MLB.com reports that the Astros have signed Aaron Boone to a one-year contract.

Our View:The thinking is that he will serve as a utility man, but he will be given a chance to compete with left-handed hitting third baseman Geoff Blum. Boone hit .241 in 232 at-bats last season with the Nationals.
September 20, 2008
Aaron Boone went 1-for-4 and registered the Nationals' lone RBI in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Padres. His hit went for a double.

Our View:Boone recorded a hit in three of his last four games, but is only worth employing in deeper NL-only leagues.
August 14, 2008
Aaron Boone has been activated from the DL following his bout with a left calf strain, according to the AP. He missed 30 games since being placed on the DL July 6 with the injury. To make room for him on the roster, Washington placed shortstop Alberto Gonzalez on the 15-day DL.

Our View:Boone could see regular at-bats the rest of the season with Dmitri Young dealing with diabetes, but will likely only perform well enough to make him usable in deeper NL-only leagues.
July 10, 2008
Aaron Boone was placed on the 15-day DL with a left calf strain, according to Nationals.com.

Our View:Boone is not a viable fantasy player right now, as he has just 17 RBI in over 163 at-bats and 71 games played.
June 20, 2008
Aaron Boone was a late scratch on Friday night due to lingering soreness in his knee, according to MLB.com. "It's just a little banged up from the last couple of days," Boone said. Kory Castro started in his place.

Our View:Boone felt that this was simply some minor irritation and that he should be ready to go soon, possibly before the end of the weekend.
