The Marlins are interested in signing Carl Pavano, according to the Miami Herald. Currently, the teams aren't totally in sync as far as dollars go. Pavano is looking for $2 million in base salary while the Marlins are offering $1 million plus incentives.

Our View:Pavano started his career with Florida and pitched well enough there to earn the lucrative deal he got from the Yankees. Perhaps a change to the old scenery will help him return to his former pitching form.
December 26, 2008
The Yankees have no desire to retain Carl Pavano, despite his desire to remain with the team, according to the New York Post.

Our View:It still seems quite plausible they sign another starter, but they will likely try and seek out some new blood. Pavano was a huge disappointment in his first stint in pin stripes.
December 16, 2008
Although Carl Pavano's name came up while the Orioles were talking to the representative for Pavano and Tim Redding, it appears that the interest is just in Redding, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:The Orioles probably want to stay closer to a know-what-they'll-get type pitcher, as opposed to Pavano who is coming off four injury-riddled years in New York.
December 16, 2008
The Orioles are talking to Carl Pavano's rep, according to ESPN.

Our View:The Orioles are talking to Tim Redding as well, who has the same rep as Pavano (Tom O'Connell). The Orioles are looking to replace Daniel Cabrera, and are exploring mid-rotation types, like the aforementioned players.
December 10, 2008
The Brewers have reportedly had internal talks regarding Carl Pavano, according to the Hot Stove Blog on MLB.com.

Our View:Pavano has a poor track record with durability and reliability, and would be an unstable addition to the Brewers' rotation as they attempt to replace CC Sabathia and likely Ben Sheets.
