Newsbreakers
December 11, 2008
Adrian Beltre has added the Twins to his no-trade clause, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:The Twins garnered interest in Beltre when they were unable to reel in Casey Blake.
December 6, 2008
The Twins may have interest in Adrian Beltre after talks broke off with free agent Casey Blake, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View:Beltre had a productive season for Seattle in 2008, batting .266 with 25 home runs and 77 RBI.
September 19, 2008
Adrian Beltre underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove bone spurs in his shoulder, as well as ligament replacement surgery on his left thumb, according to MLB.com.

Our View:The procedures were deemed successful, and his rehab time looks to be 3-4 months, putting him on track to be ready for spring training.
September 14, 2008
In what was likely the last game of his 2008 season, Adrian Beltre went 0-for-4 for the Mariners.

Our View:Beltre will have surgery this week on his injured thumb and will most likely end the year with a .266-25-77-74-8 line. Though he will never match his outlandish 2004 campaign (.334-48-121), Beltre has hit at least 19 home runs with 75 RBI in each of the past seven seasons, something no other third baseman can claim.
September 14, 2008
The Los Angeles Times speculates that Beltre could return to the Dodgers next season. Beltre has a home in Pasadena and has one year remaining on his contract with Seattle.

Our View:This would seem like a possibility after the Dodgers traded Andy LaRoche and shifted Blake DeWitt to second base, but there will probably be plenty more suitors for Beltre if Seattle makes him available.
