July 10, 2008 The Seattle Mariners added a right handed bat on Thursday to replace the released Richie Sexson as the club traded a player to be named later to the Pirates in exchange for Craig Wilson, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Our View:Wilson was batting .230-10-27 in Triple-A this season, but with an open roster spot and some highly suspect work at both first base and DH, Wilson could end up picking up enough at-bats to give him some AL only value.
April 8, 2008 The Pirates signed Craig Wilson to a minor-league deal Tuesday. Wilson was signed by the Reds this offseason, but the deal reportedly fell through after he failed his physical. I guess you don't have to be healthy to play for the Pirates. Wilson will be returning to where he began his career, though he'll have to work his way back from Triple-A Indianapolis.
