Josh Paul has been signed to a minor league deal by the Astros,according to MLB.com. He will report to Triple-A Round Rock this week. He holds no fantasy value as he only hit .190 over 105 at-bats with Tampa Bay in 2007.

The Rays have agreed to a minor league contract with Josh Paul, according to the St. Petersburg Times. He'll have to hold off Shawn Riggans and Mike Defilice in order to keep his job as the Rays' backup catcher in 2008.

Josh Paul will get his third straight start tonight. Paul started Sunday because he was 4-for-8 in his career against Orioles starter Erik Bedard (though he proceeded to strike out in all three plate appearances), according to the Tampa Tribune. Maddon said he plans to have Paul behind the plate when Edwin Jackson (tonight's starter) pitches after they worked together well in Jackson's last start.

The Devil Rays reinstated catcher Josh Paul from the 60-day disabled list on Friday, according to the AP. He had been sidelined since May 20 because of a left elbow injury. Devil Rays manager Joe Maddon said Paul will start Saturday's game against Boston.

Our View:He could easily claim the starting job if he can hit better than Dioner Navarro's .178 average.
