February 16, 2008 The Cardinals kept pitchers Cliff Politte and Dewon Brazelton out of workouts on Friday because the club is worried about injuries. Politte underwent a right shoulder exam later in the day, and Brazelton had his arm checked out, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

He signed a minor league deal with the team in February and has been rehabbing his surgically repaired shoulder since. Politte should be ready to join the Indians around the All-Star break.
