Orlando Hernandez is working out in Miami to get prepared for the 2009 season, according to Yahoo Sports.

Our View:Hernandez is a free agent, and can likely garner a one year deal if he impresses in the spring. He likely won't have any fantasy value
August 23, 2008
Orlando Hernandez's career may be over, according to the NY Daily News. He is opting for surgery on his right big toe, which has a bunion. He previously had resisted that procedure because the recovery time could cost him more than a full season.

Our View:The 38-year-old will likely miss the entire 2009 campaign, and his prospects don't look good to return at 40.
August 1, 2008
Orlando Hernandez's foot is still bothering him which means he shouldn't be expected back anytime soon, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View:El Duque is still waiting on a specially designed shoe that will hopefully allow him to return to the hill, but counting on anything at all at this point from a guy who has missed the entire season is a stretch.
July 18, 2008
Orlando Hernandez is scheduled to visit team doctors in New York after leaving his rehab outing in the first inning Thursday due to pain his right foot, according to Newsday.

Our View:Hernandez has missed the entire season with the Mets due to off-season foot surgery, and this was his third rehab start. Hernandez is not worth waiting for as a fantasy prospect, but we will keep you posted following his visit with the doctors.
July 17, 2008
The New York Daily News reports that Orlando Hernandez left his rehab start after giving up two runs in the first inning. He is trying to come back from right foot surgery.

Our View:He had allowed two runs on two hits and two walks during a 33-pitch effort.
