Tim Byrdak is pitching well this season as he is yet to allow a run over 13 innings of work, according to the Houston Chronicle. He said, "I've caught some breaks here and there, but the main thing is in my situation, from where I was at in spring to where I'm at now, it's a matter of going out there and throwing strikes."

Our View:His roster spot is believed to be safe when the team team activates Wandy Rodriguez from the DL tomorrow, but he still holds little fantasy value as a reliever.

Tim Byrdak has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock, according to the AP. The team placed lefty Wandy Rodriguez on the 15-day DL.

Our View:The former member of the Tigers holds little fantasy value.

The Astros signed Tim Byrdak to a minor-league deal Thursday. He'll report to Triple-A Round Rock initially, but Houston has just one lefty in the pen now and could bring him up soon. Byrdak was released last week by Detroit.

The Tigers uncaged Tim Byrdak on Wednesday, giving the reliever his unconditional release, the Detroit Free Press notes.

Tigers manager Jim Leyland was irritated with Tim Byrdak Tuesday, because the pitcher gestured to the catcher as if he was asking whether a pitch that was sent over the fence was too high, according to the AP. "Was it up? The pitch is over that berm!" Leyland said. It wasn't the only homer he gave up Tuesday, either. By the end of his lone inning of work Byrdak had allowed two homers, six hits and six runs. That left his spring ERA at 10.00.
