J.C. Romero's status for the upcoming World Baseball Classic is uncertain after being suspended for 50 games by the MLB, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Our View:Romero was planning on representing Puerto Rico in the tournament. His status is still being discussed as there is no policy written as of now.
January 5, 2009
J.C. Romero has been suspended for 50 games after being ruled guilty of negligence on Monday, according to ESPN. "I told them that if I ever tested positive again I would accept a 100 day suspension," Romero said. "They know I didn't cheat. And yet the rest of my career people are going to say, 'he cheated,' even though I tested negative at the start of the playoffs. I did what I was told to do, what I thought was legal and right." MLB will announce his suspension on Tuesday.

Our View:Romero apparently got caught in the middle of a misunderstanding between MLB and the Players Association. It unfortunately will cost him $1.25 million that would've been owed to him for the first 50 games of the 2009 season.
October 12, 2008
J.C. Romero appeared to limp off of the mound after striking out the third batter in the bottom of the eighth.

Our View:Romero was celebrating a strikeout in the 7-2 drubbing when karma got the best of him. No word yet on how serious the injury is.
July 8, 2008
J.C. Romero continues to battle his sore groin, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Romero originally tweaked the muscle during an appearance in Atlanta on June 7, and the ailment continues to nag him, but not to a point where it has kept him from taking the mound. He said, "It's there, you know, but it's nothing where I can't really do my job. It's not going to keep me from pitching. But let's say I'm looking forward to four days off at the All-Star break. I'll tell you that much."

Our View:In his first 34 appearances of the season, he had allowed just four earned runs, but has surrendered five in his last eight appearances. He is not pitching well right now, but Charlie Manuel believes he is going to be alright, and doesn't seem to be headed to the DL.
November 10, 2007
The Phillies re-signed J.C. Romero to a three-year, $12 million deal Saturday. Romero struggled with walks in 2007 (6.39 BB/9), but did end up with a 1.92 ERA in 74 games with the Red Sox and Phils.
