The Reds purchased the contract of Ricky Stone from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday to take the roster spot of Aaron Harang, who is one bereavement leave, according to the AP. Stone, who holds an 8.10 ERA in three relief appearances with the Reds this year, will be used in middle relief.

The Reds recalled Ricky Stone from Triple-A Louisville on Friday, according to the AP. He went 4-4 with a 1.70 ERA and nine saves in 11 opportunities for Louisville.

The Cardinals signed Ricky Stone to a minor league contract, according to the AP. He struck out five of the six batters he faced in two scoreless innings for Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday. Stone rejected his outright assignment to Triple-A Louisville by the Reds and became a free agent on July 5. He posted a 6.75 ERA in 23 games with the Reds.
