Our View:Martinez is a 10-year vet and the team feels they will be in good hands defensively while Martinez spells Reyes. Offensively, he offers nothing with a .194 average over 129 at-bats this season, and holds no fantasy value.

Our View:The 35-year-old last served 67 games with the Dodgers in 2007, and held a dismal .194 average. He has been plagued by injuries at Triple-A this season, which led to his release.

June 26, 2007 Ramon Martinez took some swings in the batting cage Monday and reported that his bothersome back no longer is an issue. Martinez visited a spine specialist in Los Angeles. "She got some joints moving," Martinez said in the LA Times. "Everything was kind of stuck." Martinez hopes to begin a rehab assignment soon.
