Chris Capuano has been transferred from the 15 to the 60-day DL, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The team moved him to free up a roster spot for infielder Mat Gamel.

Our View:In case you don't recall, Capuano is out for the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in May.

Chris Capuano underwent a successful second Tommy John surgery Thursday after an exploratory procedure revealed a complete tear of the ulnar collateral ligament, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:Normal recovery time for Tommy John is a year, but since it's Capuano's second operation, it's possible it could take him a little longer.

Chris Capuano will likely have to undergo a second Tommy John surgery on his injured elbow, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He previously had the surgery in 2002.

Our View:While pitchers routinely make it back from this surgery, the success rate of pitchers who have it done twice is poor (see Brian Anderson). We wish him well, but the 29 year old Capuano will likely never be fantasy relevant again.
April 24, 2008
Chris Capuano still hopes to avoid surgery on his pitching elbow and he has begun a throwing program to attempt to do just that, according to MLB.com. "The feeling of the therapist was [the possible need for surgery] won't surface until he goes through his throwing program," assistant GM Gord Ash said.

Our View:Capuano re-injured his elbow in the preseason and the feeling is that he will likely need a second TJ surgery to continue his career. If he suffers any setbacks in this throwing program his season, and possibly his career, could be over as very few pitchers can come back from the surgery a second time.
March 27, 2008
Chris Capuano will try rehab on his ailing elbow before considering Tommy John surgery, according to ESPN.com. He has been placed on the 15-day DL Thursday, retroactive to March 21, and will try rehabbing his left elbow for the next three to four weeks. The decision came after Capuano visited with Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday and underwent a second MRI. Andrews performed Capuano's first elbow ligament replacement procedure in 2002. Capuano was informed Sunday that he has a torn ligament in his pitching elbow and would probably need Tommy John surgery for the second time in his career. He hopes to play again this season if the rehab works.
