Newsbreakers
May 11, 2008
Ryan Raburn will start in left field on Sunday against the Yankees. He started in center on Saturday and went 2-for-2 before being replaced by Curtis Granderson.

Our View:The Tigers are just giving the backup a few at-bats and resting some of their regulars. Raburn is a decent hitter, but he doesn't have a regular gig.
April 24, 2008
Ryan Raburn replaced Carlos Guillen at third base in the Tigers' lineup on Thursday, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Guillen fouled a ball hard off his right leg on Wednesday and can hardly walk today, according to Manager Jim Leyland. It remains to be reported how long Guillen will be out of action. Raburn is playing today, but Brandon Inge could cover third base if Guillen is to miss time. Inge is playing catcher today. Raburn holds little fantasy value.
April 6, 2008
Ryan Raburn has been sent down to Triple-A Toledo, according to MLB.com. He held no fantasy value for this season.
March 26, 2008
Ryan Raburn took a pitch off the chest on Tuesday when he was trying to bunt. The severity of the injury is not known. "He’s hurting," manager Jim Leyland tells the Detroit Free Press.
February 27, 2008
Ryan Raburn could be an option as an emergency catcher for the Tigers. He played every outfield spot and second base last year, so this would just further enhance his reputation as a nice utility player. Raburn caught in high school. "I used to love it when I was younger," Raburn said in the Detroit News. "It don't bother me. Whatever gets me into the big leagues." Raburn is a guy that could be very useful for a big league team but not so much for fantasy owners.
