Buster Olney of ESPN.com believes Oliver Perez could be an option for the Braves now that they ended their bid to acquire Jake Peavy.

Our View:Perez can be erratic and has control issues, but there is no denying he has good stuff. He could prove to be a solid acquisition for Atlanta, and would benefit from a fresh start with a new club.
October 31, 2008
Oliver Perez has filed for free agency, according to the AP.

Our View:The early word from New York is that Perez will look for a five-year deal worth more than $10 million per season. The Mets are expected to make him a reasonable offer, but won't likely be good enough for him to remain with the club.
September 24, 2008
Oliver Perez battled control issues again on Wednesday night much the way he has over the past month. In 4.1 innings he walked five Cubs while allowing six hits and five runs.

Our View:He threw 105 pitches in the abbreviated appearance and struck out six batters. He has walked 23 hitters over his past six starts.
September 14, 2008
Oliver Perez didn't record a victory on Sunday but he was still solid allowing two runs over seven innings against the Braves. Perez walked three and struck out eight on the day.

Our View:This was a nice bounce back for Perez who was bombed last time out against the Nats. Still, his up and down nature continues to mark him as one of the more maddening arms to own in the fantasy game.
September 9, 2008
It was not a good night for Oliver Perez against the Nationals only going 3.1 innings giving up seven runs. Even though Perez did not have a good night he was not saddled with the loss.

Our View:Perez's ERA has climbed above four after this start but should still be considered for starts late in the season for your fantasy team.
