Our View:It was a nice run. Wait, no it wasn't. Bukvich posted a 6.75 ERA and 2.81 WHIP over 5.1 innings. Nice work, Ryan.
June 22, 2008 The Orioles have purchased the contract of reliever Ryan Bukvich from Triple-A Norfolk, according to MLB.com.
Our View:Bukvich, who has pitched in the big leagues in each of the last five seasons, is likely to contribute as a long reliever. The right-hander was starting at Norfolk, where he had compiled a 5-2 record and a 3.45 ERA. Bukvich said that most of his professional experience has come out of the bullpen and that he won't have to make much of an adjustment. To make room on the roster, Baltimore has designated Freddie Bynum for assignment.

Barring any setbacks, he will pitch in back-to-back simulated games Friday and Saturday, as well. He could be activated at Triple-A Oklahoma next week.
