October 29, 2008
Cole Hamels was named the MVP of the 2008 World Series. In the fall classic Hamels was 1-0 with a 2.77 ERA and eight strikeouts.

Our View:Hanels won both the NLCS MVP and the World Series MVP. Not to bad of a postseason for the lefty.
October 27, 2008
The fifth game of the World Series was suspended after 5 and a 1/2 innings due to rain with the score tied 2-2, leaving the game to be concluded on Tuesday night at 5 PM EST. The game will pick up in the bottom of the sixth inning with the Phillies coming to bat. As a result, Cole Hamels outing will end at six innings with two runs allowed.

Our View:All the numbers from this game count as the game will simply be picked up where it left off on Tuesday. The Rays catch a bit of a break as the won't have to face Hamels, and it remains to be seen who will take the hill when the game resumes.
October 22, 2008
Cole Hamels won the NLCS MVP and continued that success in the World Series. Hamels went seven innings giving up five hits and two runs in the Phillies' 3-2 win over the Rays in Game 1 of the World Series.

Our View:Hamels has been hot in the playoffs with a record of 4-0. With the win the Phillies have taken home field advantage away from the Rays.
October 17, 2008
Cole Hamels will start Game 1 of the World Series for the Phillies though the rest of the starting rotation is not yet set, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Given that the World Series will start on Wednesday, the team can basically go with any order they would like. the smart money would likely be either Jamie Moyer or Joe Blanton in Game 2 with Brett Myers starting Game 3 in Philadelphia, but that is just speculation at the moment.
October 15, 2008
Cole Hamels was named the NLCS MVP after defeating the Dodgers for the second time in Game 5, according to the Associated Press. Hamels struck out 13 in 14 innings while producing a 1.93 ERA in the two outings against the Dodgers to become the fourth Phillie to win the honor (Manny Trillo in 1980, Gary Mathews in 1983 and Curt Schilling in 1993).

Our View:Hamels continues to show why he is a serious contender for the title of the best lefty in the game not named Johan Santana or CC Sabathia. He is clearly at the top of his game with his devastating change up and he figures to give the Phillies a great chance to win in the World Series, at least when he is on the hill.
