Jeff Francoeur has opted to sign with the Braves rather than play football for Clemson, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The Braves' first-round pick in last month's draft got a $2.2 million signing bonus and will join the advanced rookie Appalacian League in about ten days. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound outfielder hit .487 with 16 homers and 49 RBI as a senior in high school last year.
