Newsbreakers
November 18, 2008
The Chicago Cubs signed Ryan Dempster on Tuesday and have said to be interested in Rafael Furcal and Jake Peavy. Now there are reports that Mark Teahen may be on the Cubs radar, according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View:Earlier this off-season there was talk about a trade that would send Teahen to the Indians. The Royals said that it would absolutely not happen. So a trade to the Cubs will probably be a remote possibility.
October 28, 2008
Royals' GM Dayton Moore commented that the news circulating that Mark Teahen was being considered for a trade to the Indians was merely a rumor, according to MLB.com. Moore said, "That's an absolute lie, an absolute lie. It's a lie."

Our View:It was initially reported that trade talks between the Royals and Indians centered around Teahen coming to Cleveland and moving to his natural position at third base after two seasons in the Royals' outfield, and the Indians sending one of three outfielders: Franklin Gutierrez, Ben Francisco or minor leaguer Trevor Crowe to the Royals.
October 26, 2008
The Kansas City Star reports that the Royals and Indians are discussing a deal involving Mark Teahen. Other players in the deal may include either Franklin Gutierrez, Ben Francisco or minor-leaguer Trevor Crowe.

Our View:Teahen has been mostly disappointing after the Royals had expected bigger things from the third baseman. The Indians have a hole at the hot-corner and would like to fill it sooner rather than later.
September 13, 2008
Mark Teahen went 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-4 win over Cleveland in the nightcap of the doubleheader. Both of his knocks were solo homers.

Our View:Teahen has registered two hits in five of his last seven games and collected his first homers of September. He has been quiet for most of the season, but is enjoying a strong final month, and is worth a look in AL-only leagues.
September 10, 2008
Mark Teahen was the only Royal to have multiple hits against the Twins Wednesday night. Teahen was 2-for-3, which included his 25th double of the year.

Our View:Teahen has had multi-hit games in three of his last four games and is trying to raise his average from .243. Even though Teahen is starting to hit a little better he is probably not going to be a good option for any type of fantasy team.
