Ozzie Guillen is yet to name D.J. Carrasco Chicago's starting pitcher for Thursday (in place of the injured Jose Contreras), as the manager is reluctant to pull Carrasco from the bullpen, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Guillen said, "If I use Carrasco for one day, I'll lose him for three or four days in the bullpen."

Our View:If the Sox had Scott Linebrink, the bullpen would be fine, meaning Carrasco would likely start. Lance Broadway is among the candidates in the mix for Thursday's start.

D.J. Carrasco is expected to take Jose Contreras' next start in the rotation, which will be Thursday against the Royals, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:The newly recalled Lance Broadway will work as a reliever. Carrasco is worth targeting, as he holds a 2.57 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 21 innings with Chicago this season, with 18 strikeouts.

D.J. Carrasco has been recalled from Triple-A Charlotte, according to the AP. He was called up to fill the open roster spot for Jose Contreras, who landed on the DL with elbow tendinitis.

Our View:The reliever fared well with Chicago this season, as he only allowed four hits and one earned run over 5.1 innings, with five strikeouts, but holds no value in standard leagues that don't use middle relievers.
July 17, 2008
Updating a previous note, D.J. Carrasco has been optioned to Triple-A.

Our View:The move was made to open up a spot for Bobby Jenks who could be activated prior to Friday's game.
July 16, 2008
D.J. Carrasco does indeed have one option left meaning that he could be sent down when the team chooses to activate Bobby Jenks, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:The Sox had originally thought that Carrasco was out of options meaning that they would have had to expose him to waivers if they made a move, but now they can safely farm him out without a worry. The team hasn't made the final decision with D.J. as they are still considering sending out Adam Russell instead.
July 9, 2008
The Chicago Tribune reports that the White Sox have purchased the contract of pitcher D.J. Carrasco from Triple-A Charlotte.

Our View:Carrasco will take the roster spot of the disabled Bobby Jenks.
