Ramon Ramirez has been dealt from the Royals to the Red Sox in exchange for outfielder Coco Crisp, according to the Boston Globe.
Our View:This is a good trade for Boston, as Ramirez is a capable reliever with a great curveball and good splitter, who will allow Justin Masterson to leave the bullpen and potentially work in the rotation. Jacoby Ellsbury will now likely be a full-time starter in center field with Crisp headed to Kansas City, hence raising his fantasy stock for 2009.

Ramon Ramirez was having a fantastic season up until Wednesday night. The right-hander allowed four runs in 2/3 of an inning, as the Royals gave up five in the frame to the Twins and lost in the 10th.
Our View:Ramirez had a 2.14 ERA with 25 Ks in 21 innings before this evening. He remains a worthy AL-only play despite his ERA jumping up to 3.74 after this performance.

The Rockies traded Ramon Ramirez to the Royals on Wednesday for a player to be named later. "I am happy for this opportunity," Ramirez tells the Denver Post. "I need to go there and pitch well." His departure means Micah Bowie will make the Rockies squad.

It's believed that the Rockies are shopping Ramon Ramirez this spring, according to the Denver Post. The 8.31 ERA and 1.56 WHIP he posted last season isn't very enticing, but after another good outing Friday, he's carrying a 1.13 ERA this spring.
