November 3, 2008
Daniel Cabrera is reportedly on the Orioles' trading block, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:Cabrera did not need surgery on his sprained right elbow, but fell out of favor with the Orioles, as he held a dismal 5.25 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over 30 starts in 2008. He could benefit from a fresh start with another club.
October 2, 2008
Daniel Cabrera received a second opinion on his sprained right elbow, which revealed no further damage, according to the Baltimore Sun. Cabrera was examined earlier this week by University of Miami orthopedist John Uribe.

Our View:Orioles' GM Andy MacPhail indicated that Cabrera will not require surgery, and just needs rest and time off.
September 20, 2008
Orioles hurler Daniel Cabrera was put on the disabled list with a sprained elbow, and will need six to eight weeks of rest for it to heal, according to the AP.

Our View:Cabrera was not a quality fantasy starter this season, with an ERA of 5.25 and 90 walks in 180 innings. That's far too many to be effective.
September 18, 2008
Daniel Cabrera will not pitch again in 2008. On Thursday, Cabrera underwent an MRI on a sore right elbow. The scan showed no structural damage but to be safe the Orioles shut him down, according to the AP.

Our View:Cabrera had an ERA of 5.25 this year and gave up 24 home runs for the Orioles. Some pundits have said that he has pitched his last game for Baltimore.
September 18, 2008
Daniel Cabrera will have his ailing right elbow examined today, and could be shut down for the remainder of the season, according to the Baltimore Sun. He felt some tingling in the elbow yesterday during a pen session.

Our View:Cabrera is expected to make about $5 million in arbitration this season, and holds a 48-59 career record with a 5.05 ERA. He may have pitched his last game with the Orioles. Manager Dave Trembley is uncertain who would pitch Saturday in his place.
