The Nationals assigned Larry Broadway to Triple-A Columbus Sunday and promoted Dmitri Young to major-league camp, according to MLB.com. Broadway hit .333 (7-for-21) this spring, but six of his seven hits were singles. The Nats cited Broadway's lack of power as the reason he was sent down.

Larry Broadway went 0-for-4 at the plate against Baltimore on Friday. He's hitting .267 this spring (4-for-15), and with Nick Johnson sidelined, he has the opportunity of opening of the season as the Nats starting first baseman.
