September 16, 2008
Travis Ishikawa has played well in his time up from the minor leagues, and he has put himself in conversation to be the Giants first baseman next season, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Ishikawa has hit .328 with three home runs and 13 RBI on the season. He is a good option for fantasy owners the rest of the way, will be an attractive option next season should he win the starting job.

The Giants didn't need a ton of offense with Tim Lincecum on the mound today, but first baseman Travis Ishikawa gave 'em what they needed for the 3-1 win over Atlanta. Ishikawa went 2-for-4 with his first home run of the season, good for two RBIs and one run scored on the day.

Our View:Ishikawa is just starting to cut his teeth in the majors but has done well early, going 5-for-13 with two walks, two doubles, and a homer.

There is no time like the present for a struggling team to take a gander at the future of the club, and that's exactly what the San Francisco Giants are doing, according to the San Jose Mercury News. The Giants recalled first baseman Travis Ishikawa, third baseman Ryan Rohlinger and catcher Pablo Sandoval today.

Our View:Ishikawa was having a solid year by hitting nearly .300 with 16 home runs in the minors. Rohlinger was hitting .290 with 13 bombs, but the best numbers belong to Sandoval. He was hitting a combined .350 with 20 home runs and 96 RBI for the year in two different minor league stops. Sandoval, especially, will be someone that fantasy owners should keep an eye on to see what kind of playing time he gets, and how he is producing.
