Newsbreakers
September 25, 2008
Clint Barmes started at second base on Wednesday and hit leadoff for the Rockies in their 15-4 thrashing of the Giants. He was 4-for-5 with his tenth home run, four RBI, two stolen bases, a walk and four runs scored.

Our View:Barmes has had his best power numbers this month. In 17 games, he now has five home runs and 15 RBI. His year would have been one of better seasons for a second baseman had he not missed over 50 games with an injury.
September 13, 2008
Clint Barmes went 2-for-4 and notched the Rockies' lone RBI in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Dodgers. Both of his hits were singles, and Colorado only mustered five total hits in the game.

Our View:Barmes looks to remain productive for deeper mixed-leagues over the last two weeks of the season. He raised his season average to .288 and collected his fourth RBI over nine games in September.
September 3, 2008
Clint Barmes collected his seventh homer of the season Wednesday against the Giants.

Our View:Don't expect Barmes to be a great source of power, but he should continue hitting for average and have plenty of opportunities to score runs.
August 31, 2008
Clint Barmes went 3-for-5 with three RBI in Saturday's 9-4 loss to the Padres. He recorded two singles and a triple.

Our View:Barmes has three hits in two straight games, and is batting .382 (13-for-34) over his last seven contests.
July 30, 2008
Clint Barmes will make his first career start in the outfield tonight for the Rockies, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:The Rockies face a left-hander tonight in Zach Duke, and given that Brad Hawpe is hideous against lefties (.229 in 314 career AB), Barmes will get the start (.296 in 287 career AB).
