Newsbreakers
September 21, 2008
Baltimore outfielder Adam Jones admitted that he is still not up to full speed because of the broken bone he had in his foot, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:Would have been nice if fantasy owners had known this before, as Jones has stumbled in September to the tune of a .208 batting average. Consider him fantasy irrelevant the rest of the year.
September 20, 2008
Adam Jones continued his September swoon, and went 1-for-4 in his team's 1-0 loss to the Yankees, leaving four men on base.

Our View:Jones September average actually went up with his one base hit, from .204 to .208. His overall numbers do not make him worthy of fantasy rosters, but look for him to possibly break out next season.
September 8, 2008
Adam Jones went 3-for-5 and drove in four runs in Baltimore's victory over the Indians Monday night.

Our View:Although this was a great performance, Jones is not worth putting on your fantasy roster.
September 2, 2008
Adam Jones is in the lineup for the second straight game since being activated from the disable list on Monday. The outfielder is hitting second behind behind Brian Roberts and playing his usual center field.

Our View:Jones' return hurts Jay Payton's fantasy value. Time to cut the veteran loose.
September 1, 2008
Adam Jones, in his first game back from the DL because of a broken foot, hit his eighth home run of the year for the Orioles

Our View:Jones has four home runs, 22 RBI and 22 runs scored in his last 28 games, though it will be interesting to see how he will fair after playing only two games in the month of August. Despite the home run tonight, expecting him to dominate moving forward might be a stretch.
