Newsbreakers
September 21, 2008
Skip Schumaker had three hits on Sunday to push his average to .304. He also scored his 85th run of the season.

Our View:With all the injuries the Cardinals have been hit with this season, Schumaker has stepped into the void and produced an impressive set of numbers given that he had recorded just 255 major league at bats before this season. With Rick Ankiel out, Schumaker will continue to be in the lineup everyday over the final week.
July 26, 2008
Cardinals outfielder Skip Schumaker went 6-for-7 and scored three runs in St. Louis' 14 inning, 10-8 victory over the Mets. He was the first Cardinal to get six hits in one game since 1935.

Our View:Schumaker raised his average 11 points, to .302 in the game. He won't give you much in the way of power or RBI production, but you could do much worse in NL-only leagues.
July 24, 2008
Skip Schumaker went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Thursday's 4-3 loss to Milwaukee. He also registered a stolen base.

Our View:He has generated multiple hits in four of his last seven games, and raised his average a few more points to .294. Keep him active in your outfield in NL-only leagues while he is hot.
June 20, 2008
Skip Schumaker only had one hit in five trips to the plate on Friday night but the one hit was a home run, his fifth of the season, a two run shot off of Tim Wakefield.

Our View:Schumaker has hits in six of the past seven games with three of his five home runs as he continues to reward Tony LaRussa's faith in him.
June 13, 2008
Skip Schumaker went 3-for-5 with a home run in the Friday night drubbing 20-2 drubbing at the hands of the Phillies.
