Our View:He held a poor 1.63 WHIP over 60.2 innings of relief with the Pirates in 2008, but will be given a fair shot to compete for a bullpen job with the Royals in spring training.
August 8, 2008 Franquelis Osoria has cleared waivers and has been assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Our View:Osoria remains with Pittsburgh and could get recalled in September, but won't hold much fantasy value, with a 6.08 ERA and 1.63 WHIP over 60.2 innings of relief, with only 31 strikeouts.
July 13, 2008 Franquelis Osoria was hit hard, surrendering four runs in one-third of an inning, raising his ERA to 6.58 on the year.
Our View:This was only his second game after coming back from the disabled list, so it's possible he had some rust on him. He holds no fantasy value due to the fact that he does not accumulate many holds.
July 12, 2008 Franquelis Osoria has recovered from bursitis in his right ankle and has been activated from the DL, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Luis Munoz was optioned back to Double-A Altoona to make room on the roster.
Our View:Osoria allowed 35 earned runs, 75 hits, and 11 walks over 52.1 innings this season, with only 27 strikeouts. The reliever should not be considered for your fantasy team.
