Our View:The second-year pro joins Mike McCormick (1967) as the only San Francisco Giants pitchers to win the award. He received 23 of 32 first-place votes, beating out Arizona's Brandon Webb.

September 26, 2008 Tim Lincecum will indeed make his final scheduled start of the season on Sunday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "I talked to him," manager Bruce Bochy said. "He doesn't want the season to end on his (previous) start. He feels great. He'd be disappointed if he didn't pitch."
Our View:Good for the Giants. With all these team's being so careful with young pitchers trying to micromanage every aspects of their throwing, the Giants are letting their young horse go. Of course, the questions will fly if it backfires, but what's one more start going to do?
