May 24, 2008 The Indians recalled Edward Mujica from Triple-A Buffalo Saturday to replace Jensen Lewis on the roster. Mujica posted an 8.31 ERA in 10 games last year with the Tribe. He has a 4.15 ERA with 27 Ks in 26 innings at Buffalo this season.
Our View:Mujica has a 1.26 ERA over his last 10 appearances at Triple-A, while Lewis had been struggling. We still like Lewis over the long haul, though.
February 26, 2008 Ed Mujica underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in September, but he's not been limited at all this spring, according to MLB.com. In fact, he lost about 10 pounds during the winter. "(The Indians) didn't want me to pitch winter ball," Mujica said, "so I just worked hard all winter." Mujica worked as a closer most of last season with Triple-A Buffalo, but he'll be trying to lock up the last spot in the Indians bullpen this spring.
