It'll be fun to see the old Pedro again." According to Cuza, multiple teams already have checked in about the Hall-of-Fame-bound righthander.
Our View:Pedro has not made more than 23 starts since 2005 and has endured a series of injuries since then. In 20 starts last season, he was 5-6 with a 5.61 ERA.
November 16, 2008 The Pirates are rumored to be interested in signing Pedro Martinez, the Beaver County Times reports. Martinez has worked with new Pirates pitching coach Joe Kerrigan while in Boston, and is cousins with Pirates reliever Denny Bautista.
Our View:It would be an interesting addition for the Pirates, but Martinez would have to be willing to sign with a rebuilding team.

Our View:Of course Pedro could still appear for the Mets if they keep on winning and make the playoffs. Clearly nearing the end of the line in his major league career, it would be nice if Pedro could go out on top after such a storied career as one of the most effective hurlers the game has ever seen.

Our View:Martinez escaped with a no-decsion as the Mets came back and won the game. His ERA is 5.61 and he simply wasn't Pedro in 2008.
