The Royals recalled Ryan Braun from Triple-A Omaha Wednesday. Braun has posted a 7.88 ERA in 16 innings with the Royals this year, but he has been terrific at Omaha, holding a 1.09 ERA with 36 Ks in 33 innings. Leo Nunez was sent down to make room on the roster.

Ryan Braun was optioned to Triple-A Tuesday, making room for Scott Elarton off the disabled list. Braun hasn't done much to help the Royals bullpen this year, with a 7.88 ERA and 1.44 ratio over 16 innings.

The Royals sent Ryan Braun to the minors on Thursday to create a spot on the roster for Joakim Soria, who just returned from the DL, according to the AP. In 10 appearances with the Royals this season, Braun holds a 7.24 ERA.

Ryan Braun was recalled from Triple-A Saturday, taking Joakim Soria's spot on the roster. Braun mopped up in the game later in the day, allowing four hits and five runs over two messy innings.

Ryan Braun appears to have a slight edge over Kenny Ray and Jason Standridge for the final bullpen opening with the Royals, according to the Kansas City Star. Braun has been mentioned by some as possible closer of the future for the Royals down the road.
