November 3, 2008 The Toronto Blue Jays claimed shortstop Angel Sanchez off of waivers from the Kansas City Royals on Monday, according to MLB.com.
Our View:The 25-year-old has not appeared in the majors since 2006, but will likely be given a shot in Spring Training as the Blue Jays do not have a clear-cut starter at the position heading into 2009. Should he win the job, it's unlikely he plays well enough to warrant a fantasy roster spot.
September 21, 2006 The Royals called up Angel Sanchez from Double-A Wichita Wednesday, according to the Kansas City Star. He'll serve as a backup middle infielder with Mark Grudzielanek out for the year. Sanchez hit .282 with four homers and 57 RBI in 133 games with Wichita.
