October 30, 2008 Yoslan Herrera was sent down to Triple-A Indianapolis by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Our View:Herrera threw in five games for the Pirates this year and had a 9.82 ERA. He holds no fantasy value.
August 5, 2008 In response to struggles on the mound, the Pirates have been forced to shuffle their pitching rotation once again. As a result, Yoslan Herrera has been sent back to Double-A Altoona, according to MLB.com.
Our View:Meanwhile, the Pirates have also recalled Romulo Sanchez from Triple-A Indianapolis to take Herrera's roster spot. The team has also decided to move Jason Davis into the 5th spot in the rotation, taking him out of the bullpen to bolster the cause. Davis will make that start at Philadelphia on Sunday, and when he does, he will be the 12th pitcher to make a start for the Pirates this season.
August 4, 2008 Yoslan Herrera was awful in the team's 13-7 loss to the Diamondbacks, going just 1.1 innings, giving up three earned runs on four hits and three walks.
Our View:Herrera has a WHIP well over 2.00 and should not be on anyone's fantasy team, ever.
July 24, 2008 Yoslan Herrera was dominant on the hill in Thursday's 9-1 win over the Padres, as he hurled six scoreless innings, with six hits allowed. He also fired four strikeouts with one walk.
Our View:He was believed to be on the bubble to be sent down after he allowed six and seven earned runs in his previous two starts, but tonight's strong outing could allow him to stick with the club a bit longer.
July 19, 2008 Yoslan Herrera was rocked for seven runs on eight hits in just 1 2/3 innings Saturday in a loss to Colorado.
Our View:The Cuban defector holds an ugly 19.50 ERA in two outings. Expect him to be sent down soon.
