Our View:Richar is receiving playing time with Brandon Phillips sidelined, and he could be playing himself into a roster spot for 2009. Richar was a candidate for the White Sox second base job coming into the season before getting injured.
September 10, 2008 Brandon Phillips suffered a broken right index finger in Tuesday’s game and will miss the rest of the season. Danny Richar, who was called up last night, will fill the roster spot Phillips vacates.
Our View:Phillips was hitting .261 with 21 HR, 78 RBI and 23 steals. Richar is not a fantasy option at this point.

Our View:Richar failed to impress the White Sox (was part of the Ken Griffey Jr. trade), and shouldn't see much action with the Reds in the final month of the season.
July 31, 2008 The Reds acquired Danny Richar from the White Sox Thursday as part of the Ken Griffey Jr. deal. Richar is hitting .262 with nine homers and 11 steals for Triple-A Charlotte this year.
Our View:With Brandon Phillips already in Cincy, perhaps the Reds will move Richar to shortstop, where he has played in the minors. It's also possible that they simply view him as a backup at both short and second.
May 29, 2008 Infielder Danny Richar has been activated from the DL and optioned to Triple-A Charlotte, according to the AP.
Our View:Richar was placed on the DL on March 29 with a stress fracture in his rib cage, and has not played in the majors this season.
