Our View:Gonzalez has all the tools required to be a successful center fielder in Colorado, but it will be imperative that he cut down on his strikeout totals, as he whiffed 81 times in 302 at-bats in the big leagues last season.
November 12, 2008 Carlos Gonzalez has officially been dealt to the Rockies as part of the blockbuster deal involving elite outfielder Matt Holliday, according to the Associated Press. Pitcher Greg Smith and closer Huston Street were also packaged in the deal.
Our View:Gonzalez looks to be a good fit Colorado, and his power numbers would obviously improve while playing his home games at Coors Field. His run and RBI production would also improve while playing in a more efficient offense.

September 17, 2008 The AP reports that Carlos Gonzalez was recalled by the Oakland A's on Wednesday. On Monday, he hit a three-run homer as he led Triple-A Sacramento to a 4-2 win over Oklahoma to claim the Pacific Coast League championship
Our View:Gonzalez was one of the main pieces acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks in the trade involving Dan Haren last offseason. He will be making his second stint with the A’s in 2008. The 22-year-old hit .240 with four home runs and 23 RBI in 77 games between May 30-August 27. He does not figure to be a fantasy impact player in 2008 but may be in 2009.
