August 25, 2008
Orioles pitcher Rocky Cherry picked up his first save of the season in Baltimore's 4-3 win over Chicago, though it came in a shaky bottom of the 14th that saw him walk two White Sox hitters.

Our View:Despite this save, Cherry holds little fantasy value. He got the call because this was a game that was being resumed after weather delayed it in April, and the Orioles had already used eight pitchers.
August 8, 2008
Rocky Cherry has been recalled from Triple-A Norfolk, according to the Baltimore Sun. He will fill the roster spot for Chad Bradford, who was dealt to the Rays.

Our View:Cherry has a good arm and should help the Orioles' bullpen, but will only hold fantasy value in deeper leagues that use middle men.
May 23, 2008
The Orioles activated Rocky Cherry from the 15-day DL on Friday and sent him down to Triple-A, the Baltimore Sun reports. He had been out due to a strained right shoulder.

Our View:Cherry has good enough stuff to be in the majors, but he needs to show he's over the injury and display consistency.
March 28, 2008
The Orioles placed Rocky Cherry on the disabled list on Friday, retroactive to March 22, according to the Baltimore Sun. He's dealing with a strained right shoulder and will be eligible to come off the DL on April 6. Cherry had a hot spring, allowing one run and striking out 10 in 10 innings of work.
March 18, 2008
The Baltimore Sun's Roch Kubatko believes that Rocky Cherry probably won't make the Orioles' roster in part because they likely will keep Rule 5 pick Randor Bierd and Dennis Sarfate is out of minor league options. He also noted that despite not allowing any runs in eight innings, Cherry has had trouble keeping batters off the bases; Cherry's allowed seven hits and six walks.
