Dewon Day was claimed by the Red Sox on Friday off of waivers where he had been placed by the White Sox, according to The Providence Journal. RHP Chris Smith was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for Day.

Our View:Day, a 28 year old, didn't appear in the majors in '08. He did strike out 60 batters in 71.1 innings between Double and Triple-A, but the chances of him doing anything worthy of fantasy employment seem extremely remote.
July 24, 2007
The White Sox sent Dewon Day to Triple-A on Tuesday to create a roster spot for Gavin Floyd, who was called up to start against Detroit, according to the AP. Day made 13 relief appearances for the Sox, holding an 11.25 ERA.
July 6, 2007
The White Sox activated Dewon Day from the DL before Friday's day-night doubleheader against Minnesota, according to the AP. He went on the disabled list with a sore back on June 16 and made three appearances on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte. Day was 0-0 with a 5.19 ERA in seven games with the White Sox earlier this season.

Dewon Day was sent down to Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday by the White Sox. He made only seven appearances since being recalled late last month, posting a 5.19 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.
May 28, 2007
