Newsbreakers
August 26, 2008
The Indians put the 10-4 win on the field against the Tigers this evening, thanks in large part to outfielder Ben Francisco. Francisco went 3-for-5 with two homers on the night, totaling four RBIs and two runs scored.

Our View:Francisco has improved his average from .256 last month to .309 in August, but he has struggled to pick up the power hitting. Tonight's performance brings him to four homers on the month, matching his July total, doing the same in the RBI category with 11.
August 11, 2008
Ben Francisco was the Indians best hitter on Monday night with two hits, three runs and three RBI. Other Indians with two RBI included Ryan Grako, Andy Gonzalez, Sal Fasano and Asdrubal Cabrera.

Our View:When a team scores 13 runs you expect some good numbers. Entering this night, Francisco had only three home runs and seven RBI in his last 21 games, so he could certainly use a big outing like this to boost his fantasy prospects.
August 3, 2008
Ben Francisco had one hit, his 11th home run of the season for the Indians.

Our View:Francisco is on a pace that would net him roughly 20 home runs and 80 RBI over a full season, solid numbers but nothing special. The club should continue to give him at-bats however marking him as a useful play in AL-only scenarios.
July 30, 2008
Cleveland took it on the chin, suffering the heartbreaking 14-12 loss to the Detroit Tigers after 13 innings, though designated hitter Ben Francisco did what he could to reverse fortunes. Francisco went 4-for-7 at the dish, hitting two homers to total two RBIs and two runs scored.

Our View:Hitting just .227 for the month, Francisco matched his July homer total coming in with two swings of the bat. He now has 10 homers on the season.
July 10, 2008
Ben Francisco had a career best four RBI on Thursday night as the Indians stopped a 10-game losing streak with a 13-2 victory over the Rays.

Our View:Francisco hit his eighth home run of the year on his way to three hits from the third hole in the order. Francisco has three home runs and seven RBI in his last nine games as he continues to do just enough to continue to pick up regular at-bats.
