June 12, 2008 Right-handed pitcher Carlos Rosa has been recalled from Triple-A Omaha, according to the Kansas City Star.
Our View:Baseball America ranked him as the Royals' sixth best prospect. Rosa was a combined 6-3 with a 2.19 ERA this season in 13 games (all starts), while splitting time at Omaha and Double-A Northwest Arkansas. He was brought in to help a struggling Royals' bullpen.
May 14, 2008 Carlos Rosa has earned a promotion up to Triple-A Omaha, the Kansas City Star notes. The 23-year-old right-hander was 4-2 with a 1.20 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, and 42 strikeouts over 45.0 innings (eight starts) at Double-A.
Our View:Rosa is taking a familiar path. He moved up to Double-A early in 2007 and was roughed up before settling down over the final couple months. The Royals will likely let him settle in and prove himself at Triple-A before thinking about a late-season promotion.
