MLB.com reports that Kevin Slowey played catch on Monday afternoon at the Metrodome for the first time since taking a Juan Uribe line drive off his right wrist in Thursday's game against the White Sox. The right-hander suffered a deep bruise as a result of the play. He's had limited mobility in the wrist due to the swelling. He could be back for the ALDS should the Twins beat the White Sox on Tuesday.

Our View:Slowey is one of the Twins best pitchers when he is on. He had a 3.99 ERA in 27 starts this season, good for a 12-11 record.

Kevin Slowey's MRI came back clear and revealed no ligament damage in his pitching wrist, according to the AP.

Our View:This is good news, but it remains unclear when he will be able to pitch again.

Kevin Slowey took a line drive off his right wrist on Thursday night but luckily x-rays showed no break, according to The Star Tribune. Slowey is scheduled to have an MRI on Friday in order to determine his availability for the rest of the season.

Our View:Slowey was in line to start a potential one game playoff game on Monday with the White Sox if the game was needed, but now that position is in great doubt. Slowey has been great this year with a 3.99 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and just 1.35 BB/9 and it would be terrible news to see his season end with an injury.

The AP reports that Minnesota Twins righthander Kevin Slowey left Thursday’s game against the Chicago White Sox in the fourth inning with a right wrist contusion. Slowey appeared to injur himself while fielding an infield single and was taken to the hospital for X-rays. He allowed six runs - four earned - and five hits in 3 2/3 innings.

Our View:This was not the performance the Twins were looking for and the potential injury certainly makes it worse. Slowey is in danger of losing for the fourth time in five starts.
September 20, 2008
Kevin Slowey was rocked for five earned runs on nine hits over 4.1 innings in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Rays, with three walks and three strikeouts.

Our View:Slowey is 1-3 over four starts in September, but has allowed three or less earned runs in three of the four. He should remain active in lineups for the closing week of the regular season.
