Newsbreakers
August 14, 2008
Alberto Gonzalez has been placed on the 15-day DL due to a left hamstring strain, according to the AP. Aaron Boone has been activated from the 15-day DL as the adjoining move.

Our View:The reserve infielder only hit .231 over 65 at-bats this season (with no homers or stolen bases), and held little fantasy value.
August 11, 2008
Alberto Gonzalez could be DL bound because of a left glute contusion, according to MLB.com.

Our View:That's right, he has a pain in his, well, butt. With Aaron Boone likely to come of the DL later this week, it was appear that he could slide right into to the roster spot that would be opened up.
August 5, 2008
Washington Nationals shortstop Alberto Gonzalez left the game with a left foot contusion Monday, Aug. 4.

Our View:Gonzalez is day-to-day, meaning he should only miss a couple games at most.
July 31, 2008
The Nationals acquired Alberto Gonzalez from the Yankees Thursday in exchange for minor league pitcher Jhonny Nunez.

Our View:Gonzalez doesn't hit much but has a good glove. He profiles as a solid utilityman.
July 4, 2008
Alberto Gonzalez was sent down to Triple-A, according to the Associated Press. "He needs to get some at-bats," Yankees manager Joe Girardi opined.

Our View:Fantasy owners likely won't miss his .173 batting average.
