Washington RHP Tyler Clippard started for Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, going four innings to give up two runs against Louisville, striking out six batters and walking none through 50 pitches. Today the Nats report Columbus has been ordered to limit Clippard's work as they may bring him back to the majors, according to MLB.com.

Our View:RHP Garrett Mock had been working as an extra source of relief out of the bullpen, but his recent move back the minors has opened a spot that Clippard might fill. It's not known who the Nationals will send down if they bring up Clippard.

Tyler Clippard has been optioned to Triple-A Columbus, according to CBSsports.com. The team activated catcher Paul Lo Duca from the DL, as an adjoining move.

Our View:Clippard went 1-1 over two starts, with a 4.35 ERA and 1.84 WHIP. He failed to impress, and held little fantasy value prior to his demotion.
June 14, 2008
The Nationals called up Tyler Clippard on Friday night/Saturday morning, and he will start in place of Odalis Perez on Saturday, the Washington Post notes.

Our View:There's no reason for fantasy owners to trust Clippard at this point.
June 12, 2008
The team has stated that Tyler Clippard will make another spot start on Saturday, according to MLB.com. He will cover for Odalis Perez, who could ultimately land on the DL. Perez hasn't pitched since June 3, due to shoulder tendinitis, and has already missed a start because of the injury.

Our View:Clippard allowed three runs on five hits over 4.1 innings in his Nationals' debut on Monday. He does not merit fantasy consideration.
June 9, 2008
Tyler Clippard allowed three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out six in 4 1/3 innings in his Nationals debut Monday. Clippard came to Washington from New York in an offseason trade.

Our View:Clippard was filling in for John Lannan, who would've had to pitch on short rest with last Thursday's doubleheader. He was sent back to Triple-A Columbus after the game.
