Our View:Bixler looks to get most of the work, as the club wants to audition Cruz at other positions to grade his worth as a utility man. Bixler struggled with his glove this season, and did not fare any better with his bat, as he currently holds a .161 average. He looks to be active over the closing weeks of the season, but holds no fantasy value.
September 7, 2008 Pirates shortstop Brian Bixler had an awful game in his team's 11-6 loss to the Giants. In his three at-bats in the game, he did not make contact, striking out all three times.
Our View:Since being recalled in late July, Bixler has one hit in 12 at-bats, not to mention six strikeouts. Fantasy value? Non-existent.
