Max Scherzer allowed just one earned run over seven innings of his Arizona Fall League start, according to MLB.com. It's not often a pitcher throws seven innings in the Fall League. In fact, only two other pitchers in the league's 17 years have done it.

Our View:Scherzer is trying to show he has what it takes to be a part of the Diamondbacks' 2009 rotation. Despite an 0-4 major league record in 2008, Scherzer had a 3.05 ERA and recorded 66 strikeouts in 56 innings.

Diamondbacks phenom Max Scherzer is more than willing to go to the Arizona Fall League in order to accumulate innings as he prepares to be in the starting rotation next season, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:Scherzer will be a hot commodity in fantasy leagues if he gains a role as a starter in 2009. He has thrown in 15 games, with six starts this year, and has an ERA at an even 3.00, and is averaging nearly 11 strikeouts per nine innings.

Max Scherzer was fantastic on Sunday as he allowed just two hits and a single run to the Reds in six innings of work. Max walked three on the day while striking out nine.

Our View:That gives Scherzer 20 K in his last two outings, though he failed to record a win in either outing. Scherzer is a max effort hurler who may have trouble ever posting 200-inning seasons, but the stuff can be overpowering and his future is bright if he can avoid injuries.
September 10, 2008
Diamondbacks hurler Max Scherzer will get another start on Sunday against Cincinnati, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:Scherzer has definite fantasy value, and he is capable of dominating at any time. He struck out 11 batters in just five innings in his last outing.
September 7, 2008
Max Scherzer started for the Diamondbacks Sunday and threw five innings, giving up three runs while striking out 11 in his team's 5-3 loss to the Dodgers.

Our View:Scherzer did not factor into the decision, but fantasy owners will still be happy with his day. If he is available in your league, try and snag him.
