Rookie David Price made a splash late in the season and in the Rays playoff run and now he is set to make his mark as full time starter, according to MLB.com. Rays' executive vice president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said, "He's definitely a starter. He's definitely going to be a starter."

Our View:Price is has an electric fastball and is nasty to left handed hitters. The southpaw appeared in 14 innings and struck out 12 in the regular season. He might be one of those rookies you take late in drafts and hope he pans out.

Baseball's powers are confident that the World Series will resume Wednesday night, without interruption, according to Sports Illustrated. Bitter cold is expected for the game in Philadelphia, but there is only a range of zero to twenty percent chance of rain. Also, there will not be an off day if Game 6 is necessary. It would take place Thursday in Tampa Bay.

Our View:Commissioner Bud Selig wants to end the World Series as quick as possible, with Game 7 originally scheduled for Thursday and now having to be pushed back to Friday. If MLB took an off day between Games 5 and 6, they would once again have to compete with college football for ratings on Saturday if they were to go to a Game 7.

The World Series will not resume until Wednesday at the earliest, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:With rain still falling in Philadelphia, Major League Baseball decided not to attempt to complete Game 5 on Tuesday night. The game, played in increasingly heavy rain, was suspended Monday following a 30-minute delay with the Phillies and Rays tied 2-2 after 5 1/2 innings. It marked the first time a World Series game wasn’t played to completion on the same day.

David Price pitched the final 2.1 innings in the Rays' Game 2 victory over the Phillies on Thursday. He allowed two runs (one earned), two hits, one walk and two strikeouts.

Our View:Price got out of some jams and was able to get Ryan Howard to ground out for the final out of the game with a runner on second. The 21-year-old should almost certainly find himself in the Rays' rotation next season but someone will have to be moved in order for that to occur.
October 19, 2008
David Price came on for the final four outs of Game 7 as Tampa Bay defeated the Red Sox to get into their first World Series. He struck out three hitters, allowed no hits, and walked one.

Our View:Price did not record a win or a save in five regular season appearances but has accomplished both feats in the regular season. The 21-year-old should almost certainly find himself in the Rays' rotation next season but someone will have to be moved in order for that to occur.
