Newsbreakers
August 24, 2008
Gregor Blanco struck out three times in four at-bats, but did manage a single in the Braves 6-3 defeat in St. Louis.

Our View:Blanco has had a rough August, and is hitting just .209 on the month. His fantasy stock is minimal.
August 18, 2008
Gregor Blanco has been playing with a bone spur in his right ankle, according to MLB.com. "I've had it the last two months, but it's getting worse," Blanco said.

Our View:Gregor is hitting under .200 with just one steal this month, and the ankle could likely explain some of his troubles.
July 29, 2008
Gregor Blanco led off and went 4-for-4 and walked, reaching base in all five plate appearances. He also scored a run and drove one in.

Our View:Blanco has had a four-hit game in two of his last six contests, but his lack of power limits his value to NL-only leagues.
July 23, 2008
Gregor Blanco had a big day at the plate on Wednesday as he went 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBI for the Braves.

Our View:Blanco has a hit in four of his last five starts. Though he has only one home run on the year, he does have 10 stolen bases giving him some value in NL only scenarios.
May 6, 2008
Gregor Blanco will make his fifth straight start in left field on Tuesday night. All five of the games have come against right-handed pitchers, and the rookie is batting .333 against righties.

Our View:Matt Diaz opened the season as the full-time starter in left, but this situation is clearly a platoon at this point. Diaz is batting .462 vs. lefties and .173 against right-handers. The logic is obvious.
